Caliber Home Loans Military Lending Team had an incredibly busy and productive third quarter. Team members were boots on the ground at multiple in person and virtual events while also engaging in community service and maximizing the brand equity.

July kicked off the third quarter with CHL’s continued sponsorship of Moving with The Military whose CEO and Army Spouse, Maria Reed, completed a nationwide tour surprising four military and veteran families with a one room makeover! Included in the tour was sponsorship of a pantry and laundry room for a Title I school in North Charleston. Volunteers included veterans, military spouses and caliber home loan representatives from the district.

In August, CHL finalized a three-year partnership with the Green Beret Foundation making CHL the only VA Home Loan benefit educator for the Army Special Forces community. Throughout the quarter Michelle Crumley led multiple seminars for retired and soon to be transitioning green berets on the VA Home Loan benefit. CHL also sponsored the GBF 9/11 event which was attended by over 450+ members of the military community.

This was a big quarter for education. Over 2500+ consumers and industry partners received in person or virtual training/education on the VA Home Loan benefit. This was done through relationship partners like VAREP, GBF, MilHousing Network, The Spouse Angle, and the Veterans Affairs SITREP.

CHL also had the opportunity to sponsor MilHousing Movie Nights for 400 military families! Digging in and putting community engagement at the forefront is a big part of the mission. The Military Veteran Resource Group also collected $37,500 worth of backpacks and school supplies to support Operation Homefront Back to School Brigade.

In early August the military lending team traveled to our nation’s Capital to support the Navy League in the Air Sea Space symposium event. There the team had an opportunity to network and create opportunities with military relief organizations, hiring initiatives and brand awareness expansion. That same trip saw Jessica Manfre on a housing panel for the Military Family Advocacy Network. There she spoke about the Military Spouse Advisory Council and CHL’s commitment to targeting pain points for the military family.

That month also saw CHL become the UDT SEAL Association’s VA Home Loan benefit educator and be featured in one of their newsletters.

Serving veterans is an endless commitment for the team. CHL committed to sporting LowCountry Homeless Veteran initiatives and secured the title sponsorship for Runway of Hope, an event supporting military members and spouses diagnosed with cancer.

In early September Caliber was one of the title sponsors of the Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year event, celebrating the 2020/2021 honorees. The Caliber Military Spouse Advisory council was invited to speak about the council and CHL’s commitment to serving the military community. Present at the luncheon were all senior leaders of America’s armed forces including the Deputy Defense Secretary of Defense.

Caliber was honored by the Navy as an Outstanding Civilian Employer and was recognized by ESGR for an award while attending as a guest speaker. They were also featured in Military Families Magazine highlighting the VA Home Loan buying process in the current seller’s market.

Community engagement efforts in the third quarter were extraordinary. The team’s sponsorship of the Inspire Up Foundation’s Impact Grant program allowed for $3,000 to be given to six military members and spouses to continue their professional development. The team also supported an Afghan refugee family, mini conference in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for National Guard spouses and helped fulfil a wish for a terminally ill sailor by sending his family to Disney World.

Though the country continued to see challenges through an ongoing pandemic, housing market struggles and Afghanistan crisis, the team continued to lead from the front. By continuing to focus on education through community engagement it led to increased business while honoring Caliber’s commitment to serve those who serve.
