Three Caliber Home Loans, Inc. branches joined forces in October, each staging an educational event that together brought nearly 300 local real estate agents up to speed on VA Loans. This was the latest success of Caliber Home Loans, Inc. Operation 1M, which is steadily advancing towards our goal of educating one million people across the country this year on the unique needs of military home buyers.
Our branches in Bellingham, Everett and Tacoma serve seven military bases in the western part of Washington. The need here is great and so the event was titled “VA Lending Unplugged: Serving the Underserved.” These three events armed local realtors with the current information they need to deliver maximum assistance to active and retired military personnel in realizing their housing dreams right now.
Guest speaker Bryan Bergjans highlighted all three events and walked the audience of realtors, loan officers, and military personnel through the upcoming changes to the VA handbook and updates to VA financing. He also explained the in’s and out’s of the VA Tidewater Initiative, showing how to navigate possible issues with VA loan appraisals and secure a successful home sale.
Along the way, Bergjans debunked some common misconceptions surrounding the VA home loan process, shared tips on how to present your best offer, and explained the Blue Water Navy Vietnam Veterans Act of 2019.
About 100 people attended each of these presentations, which were held at Angel of the Winds Arena in Everett, Bellingham Golf & Country Club in Bellingham, and Cheney Stadion, the minor league baseball stadium in Tacoma.
