In August of 2021, the Navy League presented the in-person Air Sea Space symposium. Caliber Home Loans was a proud sponsor of the first-ever Veteran’s Hiring Corner, dedicated to transitioning service members. Military Spouse Advisory Council Chair, Jessica Manfre, attended the conference and was invited to speak on the Military Family Advocacy panel on housing.
Also present on the panel dedicated to Military Housing were representatives from MFAN, Veterans Affairs, Habitat for Humanity, Jim Brooks (Director for Housing and Community Development, NLC), Ken Robbins (CEO of MILLIE) Kellie Artis (COO of MILLIE), and Gailo Bodenhamer, (Scout Director).
Topics discussed focused on the ongoing pain points for military families as well as the current challenges in a housing market dominated by sellers and skyrocketing home prices. Manfre was invited to speak on behalf of CHL MSAC. The initiatives of all council members and commitment from CHL was discussed as well as the hopes for the future as it relates to corporate responsibility and collaboration on serving those who serve.
Each organization remarked upon the ingenuity of the development of the MSAC and the importance of encouraging companies and large-scale corporations to follow suite. The goal of supporting and creating viable solutions for our Armed Forces and their families should be a shared one that encompasses all aspects of the challenges. This cannot be seen with only the lens of a veteran or active-duty member and all present agreed that utilizing the military spouse prospective would be vital in ongoing improvements.
It is a testament to Caliber Home Loans Military Lending leadership and continued commitment to doing the right thing that will advance the needle as well as lead more customers their way. By adhering to the dedication of community engagement and education, the business will follow.
