moving_military-projects.jpgIn recognition of Military May, Caliber Home Loans sponsored Moving with the Military’s recent USO makeover. Moving with the Military is a home improvement and lifestyle web-series committed to helping military families get settled in their new communities. The organization also conducts community building projects for military spouses, but the focus of this makeover was for the USO’s Pathfinder Program and its center in San Antonio, Texas.

The USO Pathfinder program helps servicemembers and military spouses plan for what is next. This newly remodeled 5,000 square foot facility, also known as the New Pathfinder Center, will provide educational, financial, and job search opportunities and resources as well as information on VA Home Loans and other veteran programs.

Upwards of 100 volunteers collectively gave more than 500 hours to help make this dream makeover a reality. The project was valued at $40,000 and community partners such as Samsung, Homebase Lumber, Ink Logix, and Amazon donated goods and services. Moving with the Military volunteers painted, built furniture, designed, and refurbished items as a labor of love for our military servicemembers and their families.

Brittany Hahn Boccher, Caliber’s Military Community Engagement Administrator and former MSOY honoree volunteered at the event as well. When asked about the significance of the event, Brittany responded, “this event offers a network of community leaders who recognize the sacrifices military spouses make and who provide support for them to pursue their passion and purpose”.
