The staff at Caliber Home Loans never passes up a chance to support our military, and the recent Paracord Initiative was no different. Employees at Caliber offices in Texas and Illinois recently donated their time and effort in making over 1,500 Paracord Survival Bracelets. They’ll be distributed by Operation Gratitude as part of “care packages” delivered to our servicemen and women around the world.

Bracelets that can be literal life-savers

Each bracelet is made of braided parachute cord, a super-strong material which can hold up to 550 pounds. The wearer can unravel his or her bracelet in an emergency – in seconds they’ll have over seven feet of super strong, versatile rope to help them out of a variety of situations such as building a makeshift shelter or keeping camouflage materials in place.

The paracord itself can be unraveled and used as fishing line or thread to mend torn backpacks and other materials. Some wearers attach a small compass, knife or other “field gear” to their paracord bracelet for easy access.

Join us in showing our military we care
