Caliber Home Loans does much more than assisting veterans with VA loans... we’re equally dedicated to helping homeless veterans.
Recently Caliber's branch in Sequim, Washington went to work collecting blankets, socks, hand warmers and gloves. Their collection was carried out to support the charity Pennies for Quarters, a non-profit created to provide housing, supplies and support to veterans who are currently living on the streets.
Matt Rainwater explains why he founded Pennies for Quarters:
“There are almost 50,000 homeless veterans living in the United States. That is 50,000 too many. These are not numbers. These are men and women that have put their lives on the line in order to protect this great country of ours. They deserve to be treated better.”
In addition to providing blankets and warm clothing to homeless veterans, Pennies for Quarters is currently raising funds to purchase land near Port Angeles. The charity plans to build up to 40 small homes on the land for Washington-area homeless veterans.
