VHVUSA Christmas Jubilee attendees pose in front of Juke Box

Caliber Home Loans (CHL) and Veterans Helping Veterans USA (VHVUSA), sponsored their 5th Annual Magical Christmas Celebration this past December. Caliber continues to partner with VHVUSA to roll out the red carpet and support the 36,000 Military and veterans living in Ocala County, FL. Past themes have included Stars and Stripes Action! – a Hollywood Glamour, and a Masquerade Ball. This year they decided to revisit the past and acknowledge Pearl Harbor Day with a “1950’s Rock & Roll” theme.

This evening of elegance was all about celebrating and raising funds for those who served and are currently serving our country. Nearly 250 guests came from near and far including Gerry Giannelli, an Air Force Veteran and Branch Manager with CHL, along with distinguished military guests, politicians from various levels of government, representatives from local support agencies, and business owners. Everyone enjoyed dinner, live entertainment, music, an awards presentation, photos, and a silent auction.

One Person’s Mission to Honor Many

This event began thanks to Caliber Loan Consultant, Jinky Diaz and her vision of hosting a fundraiser for those who serve our country. She shared that vision with her family, and it was Jinky’s then 12-year old daughter, Cheyenne, that encouraged her to take the necessary steps and make her dream a reality.

Each year Jinky serves as the event coordinator and host alongside Hank Whittier, Executive Director of VHVUSA, to make sure the goal of honoring our heroes continues.

The fundraiser proceeds are used to assist Veterans and their families with food, clothing, utility bills, and employment assistance. Donations also support the court diversion program which gives veterans, with minor crimes, a second chance.
